Make Goals and Plans to
Review General Conference
Now all the talks from the latest General Conference are on the Gospel Library App and on churchofjesuschrist.org
So many wonderful, powerful messages were shared. Maybe you had a question answered, or had your testimony confirmed. What do you hope to accomplish as a result of this? Plan to make this conference a turning point to better yourself.
From my experiences with conferences, I testify that what is spoken under the influence of the Holy Ghost is "scripture" and, as the Lord has said, "shall be the will of the Lord, shall be the mind of the Lord, shall be the word of the Lord, shall be the voice of the Lord, and the power of God unto salvation." Consider making a goal to study these talks individually and with your family. Use them in your personal study and in your family home evenings. Make goals based on the messages that stood out to you.
In Stake Conference, President Burns invited us to have a goal of serving or ministering to someone in some way at least once every week. Ponder how you might incorporate Pres Burns’ invitation into your personal and family goals and plans.
Inspiration and Suggestions
Listen to a talk while you get ready, clean up your house, or drive to work.
Prayerfully, pick one or two talks that stood out to you and take time for a deeper study:
Search the footnotes through the text of the talk and compare similar past talks.
Identify a principle taught or invitation made in General Conference. Set a goal and make plans to follow that principle or invitation.
Consider how you might explain your thoughts from a talk to a non-member.
Prepare a lesson based on the talk. This could be shared in an FHE or a ministering visit.
Assign a talk to a member of your family to share at FHE.
Share your favorite quotes or inspiration from General Conference on Social Media or the Ward Facebook page.
Send a talk that touched your heart to your ministering companion and/or someone on your ministering list.
Plan to invite a family or some friends in the ward to an FHE, Dinner, Game Night, or other group activity.
